I purchased this book for a grad school class. Even though it is a textbook, I found it to be informative and easy to read. It does not read like a normal textbook, it's not as bland. I used this as a resource to write several papers from. This is one book I'm not going to sell back; I'm keeping it for reference. It includes recent content dealing with the Affordable Care Act, which is helpful. Excellent book for anyone needing it for class, or anyone who is interested in the structure of the current US health system, as well as that of other countries.
The book comes with online access to additional content. However, the "jblearn" website has many sections where trying to access the course material returns an error message. Customer support is unresponsive. I like the content of the book but this publisher's attempt to enter into an ebook market is a complete failure.
Super cheap because it's the older version but the concepts within are still relevant and provide different points of view.
I was pleasantly surprised how well this book was laid out. It was easy to read and organized in a clear manner, that is hard to find in a lot of health care books. The only downside is that it is slightly out of date now, but only by a year. I also purchased this used and it looked brand new!
So far, this book seems to explain health care organization relatively clearly. I'm so new to the subject that it's a little advanced for me, but it's not impossible for me to follow.
Needed this for a class. It was a good price, and there were some interesting perspectives in this.
